Last Sunday was the last weekend of a busy year for Scarborough’s Mini and Junior sections and with more than 60 games played across the age groups and over 1,000 points scored this year, each age group has had something to cheer about.

The end of the season does not mean an end to rugby as there are a number of summer activities including the Touch Rugby Competition, Rugby Camps and 7’s so there’s still plenty for players of all ages to get stuck in to. Read more...

 

We’re rapidly approaching the end of the playing season and many Clubs around the country choose this time to set off on tour as a reward to their teams for the commitment they’ve all made throughout the winter and on Saturday Scarborough welcomed 4 teams to Silver Royd to play against some of our junior sides. We had Waterloo and Winnington Park in action against our Under-13’s, Percy Park up against our Under-12’s and finally Lutterworth to take on our Under-19’s.

With the mini’s festival now only days away all the preparation going into such an event starts to show through, all the pitches are set up and activity areas and the food village is all but complete. Looking back on last year’s tournament the great weekend of weather made it that much better. With teams coming from all over the country and ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old this weekend is set to once again showcase our fantastic facilities and our ability to host such events.

Easter Rugby Skills Camp at Silver Royd 

 

Next week the Rugby Club will be running an Easter Rugby Camp for all players aged between 11 and 17. The camps will be held on Tuesday 3rd, Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th of April from 10am to 3pm. The focus of the Rugby Camp is the more advanced aspects of the game and is open to anyone but an understanding of the game is advised. Read more...

 

Last Sunday Silver Royd played host to the Yorkshire Cup Finals. With near perfect conditions for running rugby over 600 spectators enjoyed the Cup and Plate finals for Under-13’s & 14’s. It was a great chance to showcase the facilities at Silver Royd and is the first of a number of big events that are to held at the Club in the next two months with the Breakaway Tours Minis Tournament on the 14th & 15th of April and the Bill Beaumont Cup clash between Yorkshire and Lancashire on the 12th May.
