Selection Policy

  1. Anybody wanting to play 1st XV rugby will be expected to train twice a week.
  2. When players are of roughly equal ability, selection will be based on Desire, Training Attendance and Potential – in that order.
  3. Nobody is guaranteed a place by right or reputation.
  4. Miss a game for any reason, and your replacement will keep his place as long as he performs or until he in turn goes missing.
  5. You will not as a rule be dropped without being given, in advance, advice as to why you are underperforming and how to improve.
  6. Communication works two ways. Coaches are not readers of minds or clairvoyant, and also have busy days.

Bench Policy

  1. Being selected to the bench does not guarantee that you will get game time.
  2. Bench players have positive roles to play during matches, such as being water or towel carriers, and helping match stats gathering.
  3. Bench players will get game time in the event of injury or when it is considered they can make a positive impact.

Training Policy

  1. Training starts at 7pm and will finish no later than 8.30pm.
  2. Players will arrive with the appropriate kit and will have undertaken personal warm up measures prior to the start.
  3. Rugby is a contact sport. There will be contact elements in every training session.
  4. To assist session planning, players will state their availability on the previous Saturday.
  5. Players carrying injuries should be getting treatment instead of training.
