Scarborough travelled to Ripon, last year’s semi-finalists for the first round of the Yorkshire Cup. Playing without seven first team regulars due to injury and unavailability the visitors were on the back foot from the start and went on to concede six tries in a heavy defeat. The Scarborough lads never gave up the ghost with Marcus Palmer and Nathan Hakin outstanding in defence. Man-of-the-match went to Scrum-half Joe Edmonds for a fine all-round display.
