It hasn’t been a very good couple of weeks for youth rugby at the club due to poor weather conditions and some of the pitches being unplayable. We had one weekend that was a total right-off where none of our teams trained let alone got the chance to play a game.
What we have seen over the last couple of weeks is the Scarborough 6th form rugby team who kept their unbeaten streak alive with a couple of good wins over East Riding College and Wyke College of Hull. On Wednesday we had our toughest fixture yet against Bishop Burton where with 13 men we sneaked a 5 all draw in terrible conditions at Scarborough Rugby Club, our only try coming from 16 year old Jake Rollinson with a great dummy from scrum half and a good turn of pace which saw him beat two defenders and run through for a 5-nil lead at half time. We kept this lead until the final minute where with the last play of the game Bishop Burton scored a try in the corner for a 5-5 finish. It was unlucky for the 6th form team as they deserved the win but were happy to gain the draw and keep their unbeaten season going. Our next game is next Wednesday 2pm at Scarborough Rugby Club against Craven College.
