Welcome to SRUFC Mini Rugby Page
- Mini Rugby is for both boys and girls who are aged between six and twelve years old.
- The main aim is to learn how to play the game in a fun and exciting way so that they can enjoy the full fifteen a side game when they are older.
- Mini Rugby takes place every Sunday morning between 10-30 am and 12-00 noon in the season which begins on the first Sunday in September and ends on the last Sunday in April.
- Players are divided into age group teams depending on their age as of the 1st of September of the current season, for example if you are eleven years old on the 1st September you are eligible for the under 12s team and so on.
- The coaches will also take into consideration experience, confidence and physical size when allocating players to the correct team.
- Each age group team has at least one Rugby Football Union qualified coach, and all coaches are CRB checked.
- Matches against other clubs take place usually about once a month both at home and away and as far as practically possible everyone will get the opportunity to be involved in match day action.
- SRUFC are fully committed to the Laws of the Game as laid down in the RFU Mini Rugby Continuum and follow recognised policies and procedures in regard to Child Protection and Health and Safety.
- Positive parental support at both coaching and matches is encouraged, and the coffee bar is open early on a Sunday morning.
If you want to be part of Scarborough's number one sports club, just turn up on a Sunday morning or contact Mini Organiser Nigel Wilson telephone 584973 for further information.
